CROATIA TARGETS 6 KEY MARKETS
This year the Croatian National Tourist Board (CNTB) is promoting their health tourism to six countries: Austria, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland and the UK. The targeting campaign uses social media to show what Croatia offers the health tourist. Number of tourist in Zagreb city is increasing every year and CNTB are looking to attract customers to the rest of Croatia for health and wellness tourism.
Health tourists usually spend 20-30% more than the average international tourist. Last year 17 millions of tourists visited Croatia and 14,6% of them were health and wellness tourists. According to CNTB, TOMAS research by the local Institute for Tourism in 2017 says that 7% of tourists visit Croatia for health reasons and another 7.6% for wellness.
Croatia depends on tourism and sees medical, health and wellness tourism as having the potential to extend the tourist year.
